A charming, high-quality wine with fine limestone notes running through its generous cherry fruit, lifted by hints of violet and mint, with a touch of orange-zest bitterness beautifully balanced by liquorice-tinged sweetness.

The palate is nuanced, with notes of cherry, sage, plum, dark chocolate, wild raspberry and cinnamon. Medium-bodied, with a finely textured mouthfeel, the variety’s typically refreshing acidity, polished tannins and a soft vanilla sweetness from oak ageing.

The grapes for this wine come exclusively from Ricasoli’s own vineyards in Gaiole, planted on gravelly soils at 350-400 metres above sea level.
