Underberg, created in 1846 by Hubert Underberg, is a spiced bitter with notes of liquorice root, ginger, wormwood, clove and citrus peel.

It is still made according to the original recipe, using natural ingredients with no added sugar, with raw materials sourced from 43 different countries around the world.

Underberg is matured in oak barrels for several months for an extra rounded flavour before being bottled in small 2-centilitre bottles, considered the perfect dose for digestion. Another advantage of the single-serve format is that the drink always stays fresh, as the flavour of bitters fades in opened bottles.
