Underberg, created in 1846 by Hubert Underberg, is a spicy bitter with notes of liquorice root, ginger, wormwood, clove and citrus peel.

It is still made according to the original recipe, using natural ingredients with no added sugar, sourced from 43 different countries around the world.

Underberg is aged in oak barrels for several months to give it an extra rounded flavour before being bottled in small 2 cl bottles, considered the perfect dose for digestion. Another advantage of the single-serve format is that the drink always stays fresh, as the flavour of bitters fades once a bottle has been opened.
